Blythe California would definitely be at the top of my list to visit. Blythe has an average daytime temperature of 110 degrees and is in the middle of the desert between Los Angeles and Phoenix. It has an interesting collection of local flora and fauna including cactuses, roadrunners, palm trees, rare rocks and minerals as well as cactuses. If you go at the right time of year, you can literally feel yourself melting into the pavement, which is phenomenal for weight loss!
The city does have a lovely museum that apparently people online have reviewed and said is great! Blythe also has a golf course that doubles as a bird sanctuary and old people storage facility. It has also been nominated as the course most likely to give you heatstroke in the summer by “Golf Magazine”.
The Hauser Geode Beds allows visitors to try their hand at mining for geodes, if they survive the trip out to the location and back which is only accessible via 4 x 4. Blythe also has the mysterious ancient ruins, the Blythe Intaglios which are in a nutshell….mysterious. It is widely postulated that these ancient ruins could be the site of encounters with ancient aliens because of their resemblance to the Nazca Lines of Peru.

Blythe also boasts a state of the art (in 1970) bowling alley and a lot of truckers. If you are into going into different gas stations and convenience stores, they totally have you covered! The luxurious Motel 6 near the freeway really gives it a downhome feel and gets five stars from me! I have not been there for a number of years, but I can’t wait to go back!
