What makes you nervous?

Adulting can be very rewarding and engaging, but damn it can be stressful!

5:30 AM – Did I take my medication or the dogs medication?

6:30 AM – Where are my keys?

6:45 AM – Where are my keys?

7:30 AM – Why aren’t the kids ready?

8:00 AM – Will I be late for work?

8:30 AM – What is my lesson plan?

8:40 AM – This Lesson Plan sucks

8:45 AM – How to Change Lesson Plan

8:50 AM – Angry student confronts me about not grading assignment

9:00 AM – I can’t use the bathroom for another hour and half

11:00 AM – Did I bring my lunch?

11:30 AM – Did I remember to put a soccer lesson plan out?

12:00 AM – What am I teaching tomorrow?

12:15 AM – Lunchtime, here comes the angry student again..

1:00 AM – Lunch Ends, damn I didn’t give myself time to go to the bathroom (it is roughly 1/2 a mile away)

2:00 AM – Soccer Time! How much cursing is too much? Will anyone try to fight each other today?

3:00 AM – Where are my kids at and what is their schedule?

4:00 AM – Kids aren’t where they said they were, what if they have been kidnapped?

4:30 AM – Found kids, false alarm, why did I get a notification they one wasn’t in class?

5:30 AM- Did we thaw anything out for dinner?

6:00 AM- Pick up Kid #4 from Tae Kwon Do – Did she get in trouble at school today?

6:30 AM – Break up arguments between spicy nine-old year old and salty teenage siblings.

7:00 AM – Back to School Tonight is tonight….???

7:30 AM – I work at a school I should not have to go back to school…this seems unfair

8:30 AM – Did I pay that bill?

9:30 AM – Where will Kid #1 go to college?

10:00 AM- What genius created Hamster Rave? Why can’t I do that?

10:30 AM – Am I really understanding my book or do I need to re-read it?

11:00 AM – Did I call my parents this week?

11:30 AM – Why can’t I sleep?

12:00 PM- Kid #4 comes into bed with a cough, oh no is it Covid?

12:30 PM – *Dreams about not having enough time*

Rinse and Repeat 🙂

  1. I remember those days well. Now, I’ve traded in my teacher worries for a different set of writer worries. At least I get to pee whenever I want!

  3. There should be a point where you can just opt out of growing up and never become an adult! Or maybe there is – a lot of people seemed to have found it!!!
