Core values play a vital role in giving one direction. This has certainly been very true for me in my life. I was extremely fortunate to grow up in a very nurturing environment at home and in my extra-curricular activities.

Loving Engaged Parents
I also had great parents who loved me very much and wanted nothing more than to see me be successful, even though we had a lot of very hard times, I always knew they loved me. On top of that, I had great friends and mentors through sports that really made me believe I could accomplish great things.

My Cultural Lense
As a teacher, I see the importance of these things in a child’s life and truly believe that the environment a child is raised in determines much about their future. I certainly had a good one.
