What are you most worried about for the future?

What an ironic question given today’s Supreme Court Ruling. I would have to say the future of the United States should Donald Trump become Presidemt again.

Time and time again he has gotten away with things that im the best would of been considered treason. Jokes on us, if your rich and powerful laws clearly don’t apply to you in the same way.

The Supreme Court affirmed this view by literally saying that if your President you can do whatever you want. The Supreme Court is supposed to be the last lime of defense against a grifter like Donald Trump, but in this case they have failed us all….again.

Three Supreme Court justices who should of never been on the bench, one for sure, two speculatively depending on if you think Russia influemced the 2016 election to give Trump the win have decided that they will hand the U.S. government over to a convicted felon with very serious cases in litigation because, well Presidents need inmunity for official actions, including trying to murder the Vice-President and Congressional leadership so they could stay in power. I guess the conservative justices don’t like the American people or Congress because they need to ban abortion and give the billionaires and mega-corporations everything on their Christmas List. I guess that is not anything new. Supporting abortion brings enough people into the tent to pass tax cuts for the rich.

Don’t get me wrong, abortions are awful, but if you know anyone who has gone through one, they are not anxious to go through it again. It is its own punishment….my two cents.

At the end of the day, the world has changed at an astonishing pace. It is no wonder that people are losing their senses and turning power over to a percieved political wolf in sheeps clothing.

I am firmly in the, I will vote for anyone, or anything, but Trump including a tuna sandwich or even a really good veggie burger. Trump and the Republican ends justify the means party are going to cause nothing but suffering for Americans so their base can feel like they are being “heard” by their celebrity con-man. It is incredibly sad to see because I deeply love this country and its people.

My grandfather came here from Germany in the early years of The Great Depression. Maybe he had a sense of what was to come with his beloved country. He had to deal with the stigma of being German after World War I and possible deportation to the relocation camps during World War II. My family is very keen of the dangers authoritarian leaders pose to a free society.f

Maybe it has been too long since we had to actually fight for our collective survival. As Nietzche said, “War is the health of the state.” Maybe things have been too good for too long for The United States.

Miraculously, we survived the first Trump Presidency as a democracy….barely. Well most of us did, not the capitol police who died Janiuary 6th. His suprporters who got “mad as hell” and “fought for their country” in his name all got prosecuted, many put in jail for a very long time. I guess they weren’t rioting in an official capacity. Thanks for the clarification Supreme Court.

All empires eventually fall. Rome oscillated between republic and dictatorship for centuries. Democracy is messy and tends to have difficulty standing the test of time.

I guess the hard part for me is to watch such a great nation surrender its greatness to such an obvious traitor to the Constitution. Between his calls for Russia to help him spy on his political opponents, his utterly wreckless tweets with Kim Jung Un, the January 6th attempted coup, election interference in 2020, and the endless lies he spouts to undermine his millions of followers faith in our democratic institutions, itbis clear this man will do anything to gain and hold onto power and it seems there will be little done to restrain him. The Supreme Court certainly won’t.

  1. Great posts as always. I can see why you’re upset about the election, and you have every right to be. I’m not into politics so that’s not what came to mind when asked this question. Being a person with severe anxiety, I am constantly worrying about my future. My primary worry is I will be unable to secure employment. I have struggled for years to find a job that I can hold onto. The issue isn’t a lack of motivation but rather my own personality. As an Autistic person, I struggle to break my rigid routine. This has impacted my ability to find a stable job. My worry is I wouldn’t be able to support myself without my parents’ assistance in the future. It’s not something that keeps me up throughout the night, but it does make my upcoming future appear to be uncertain.

This prompt brought to mind the recent film “Inside Out 2”. A spectacular sequel, it captures the impact of anxiety on adolescents. There’s a scene involving a panic attack that’s incredibly realistic. One of the finest animated movies I’ve ever seen. Here’s why it’s worth watching:

    1. I feel you, I am definitely at the “grumpy old man” stage of life where I get really angry about politics sometimes. With your commitment to your blogging, I would think you will eventually be able to successfully monetize it. You put a lot into it!

I will be watching this one pretty soon I am sure with our eight-year old 🙂

    2. If possible at all, try starting a business, something you’re passionate about and could even partner with someone. I feel what you’re saying and think about the future of my grandson, who is also autistic.
