You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

I find my dog and start repeatedly saying her name, patting her on the belly and run around the house hysterically with her.

Then I tell my cats who just look at me like I am crazy.

I run to my bearded dragon’s cage and tell him. He looks at gis food bowl and wonders when new worms will magically appear.

I tell my girlfriend who tells me something like, “You need to calm down, a snowstorm is not that big of a deal!”

I tell my kids and they give my icy teenage stares for interrupting their online activities.

Then I start to get worried…what if this good news isn’t really good news, what if it is last “good news” I will ever hear?

I start playing out scenarios in my mind about how this “good news” will play out runnimg theough various scenarios, thinking of all the costs and benefits of such news, how it can be beat utilized and how any negative unintended effects can be mitigated.

The pressure of dealing with this unexpected change is starting to become too much. I decide I need to find the right combination of snacks to quell this building anxiety.

I settle on a two pieces of wheat toast and a string cheese. This doesn’t quite cut it so I dip into my secret stash of candy canes.

It is basically a pretty simple process…
