Daily-prompt 2051 – Are you holding a grudge? Explain

Holding grudges never has been my way. I don’t like having negative feelings follow me into a new day, however, there are some things that I get irritated about regularly. Does that count as a grudge?

People who are obnoxious with their cell phones, rolling around your shared space with the volume blasting, oblivious to anything else going on around them. Get some damn headphones already!

People who have to drive on the freeway like they are in the Matrix to get two cars ahead irritate the heck out of me. I have only one life, just trying to make it home to take care of my family and these folks want to play a Fast and Furious Five Freeway Edition.

People who are rude to service workers are especially irritating to me. I know firsthand how hard service jobs are. They are largely thankless, devoid of social status, and not very well respected….unless you have actually had to do them! I see people who obviously never had to do anything “serving” the public and they act so entitled sometimes. I really hope for a karmatic (if that is not a word it should be) smackdown on some of these people.

The new shoplifting trend irritates me to no end. We as a society are so afraid of possibly maybe violating a criminals rights, that we are going to let them steal whatever they want, with no repercussions. Do you think the store that you share in common with these violators of the social contract is eating those losses? Think again my friend, the honest people will pay for it with higher prices. Individual rights are important, but it would be nice if we did not just allow society to collapse so we don’t violate criminal individual rights!

That’s it for tonight, a little ranting and raving never hurt anyone right? Maybe I should change my blog title to old man ranting and raving about nonsense 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, stay thirsty my friends!

  1. I think that we share a lot of the same annoyances. Especially the one pertaining to those who are rude to service workers.

  2. You nailed it! Thank God for self control at times but there are just moments that I can’t! Especially bullying.
