What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

I still have some blankets and towels and stuff from when I moved out of the house many moons ago. A dish or piece of silverware here or there, some gardening tools, maybe a piece of clothing here or there. Nothing really jumps out at me.

It is amazing to me though how as time passes, the things that shaped our reality slowly disappear into the backgroukd like the wake behind a boat going out to see. Moments and places which seemed so permanent, strong, and invincible fade away. All we have is these little momemtos, pictures, and stories.

  1. Great posts as always. A tough question for me to answer because I don’t pay much attention to the things that I own. I suppose if I had to choose one thing it would be my jogging pants. I have never been picky of clothes that I wear. Even when something is old, worn out or tattered, I wear it. This often drives my mother crazy as she keeps telling me constantly that I must throw away my worn-out jogging pants. But this doesn’t matter much to me. Clothing has always been the least of my concerns. I still wear the old jogging pants for my exercise regardless of their poor condition.

This prompt brought to mind the wonderful animated film “Toy Story 4”. The “Toy Story” films capture how toys are objects that children often hold onto for several years and use daily. The fourth movie is a fantastic farewell to the toys we’ve grown to adore. Here’s why it’s worth watching:
