Patriotism to me is best summed up by the quote,

The ultimate determinant in the struggle now going on for the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas-a trial of spiritual resolve: the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish and the ideals to which we are dedicated.”

-Ronald Reagan

Patriotism to me is believing in the highest ideals and aspirations of one’s nation. It is also condemning those who would undermine and destroy what is best of us.

An idealogogical battle is raging every moment of every day between which philosophies, values, and beliefs will be agreed upon and accepted by any society.

  1. To me, Patriotism is love for your country. It does not necessarily mean love of the government.

  2. I don’t know, the country is the land, which I do love, but I think patriotism has to do with honoring a set of beliefs that have historically unified us in positive ways. Feeling proud about living in a democracy…..enjoying the privileges of free enterprise…things of that nature.

I also think honoring those who have answered the call to service, especially in times of danger, is a part of that as well.

  3. One nation, under surveillance, with liberty and just enough conspiracies theories for all. 🇺🇸

  4. Good quote by RR. I agree.
