#1 – Nurturing – I took a personality test a couple of times with the Flippen Group and it came back with unusually high scores in being nurturing, especially for a man! I tend to connect deeply with nature, specifically animals, probably owing to pastoral history of my family. I think this is my strongest attribute as a leader and an educator.

#2 – Physical Fitness – I am still a little pudgy, but for 46 years old I seem to be doing better than a lot of my counterparts. My secret, lots of excercise, duh! I excercise almost every morning, go to the gym when I can, and play sports in my spare time.

#3 – Baseball – I have been involved in baseball since I was five years old and as a result have become quite knowledgeable about it. I have played, coached, and taught about baseball, played almost all baseball video games, collected baseball memorabilia, and even NFT’s. I still play on my Sunday League team, not to brag, but we went 20-0 last season and won the playoff tourney at the end. Guess who had the big hits and played an exceptional defensive game?

#4 – Creative thinking and Problem Solving – I don’t have the best long-term attention span in the world. I can be distracted quite easily, but I have a very active mind that likes to look at problems from many different perspectives to try and find solutions.

#5 – Connecting with Teenagers – My girlfriend jokes around that I am 46 year-old tennager and it is kind of true. I spend an inordinate amount of time around teenagers in some very challenging settings, but I have discovered that if you take the time to build relationships that are meaningful. The class will flow much smoother.
