Who would you like to talk to soon?

I would like to talk to my estranged step-brother soon. My step-brother is a pretty strange cat. He was always kind of aloof, maybe a little on the spectrum in hindsight, but he had a falling out with my parents over them not giving him money to help his girlfriend who had multiple sclerosis I think it was.

He was so mad, he decided to never talk so any of us again, including his sister and his 17 year old brother (me). We have tried to track him down a number of times, but to no avail.

I really liked my step-brother even though he was a lot older than me. He was a fun person to be around. Anyway, that is my story for today. Who would you like to talk to?

  1. So sorry for your loss, Mr. B. 🕊️ Nice blog—keep up the amazing work! 🌟

    1. Yeah it is kind of sad. I just hope he is ok.

  2. Beautiful posts as always. I can relate to this one because I have always had a complicated relationship with my brother. As an Autistic person, I have often struggled to maintain strong relationships with people even members of my family. I remember how we used to spend time playing soccer together. We bonded over a game that both came to enjoy playing. However, barriers of education tore us apart from each other. When I went off to University, I became distant from a brother I once valued highly. He soon became involved in his own studies pursuing a medical school degree. We remain in touch living under a same roof today, but our relationship isn’t what it once used to be. We rarely find the time to have long discussions that we once used to. So, I would like to talk to him soon.

Your post brought to mind the wonderful film “Iron Claw”. It tells the true story of the unbreakable bonds between the Von Enrich brothers that sought to become famous wrestlers. I’m not a fan of wrestling but was really moved by this film’s depiction of brotherhood. Here’s why I recommend it strongly:

  3. Great read! I look forward to reconnecting with my sister, but it’s going to be a while before I do.

    1. I am glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with your re-unification.

  4. I’m sorry to hear about the situation with your step-brother. I hope one day you’ll get to talk to him again.

    1. Thanks Angela, so do I🥲

      1. Believe even when it seems impossible.

      2. That is all we can do!

      3. Believing in the impossible can be very powerful. I learned that after the home invasion. I didn’t have it in me to believe that things would change but a dear friend said she would believe in the possibilities that seemed impossible to me and that belief changed the trajectory of my life. Our thoughts are so much more powerful than we let ourselves imagine.

      4. That is very inspiring. I will try to keep the faith 🙂

  5. I hope one day, you will find him, and he’ll talk to you.🌸

    1. Me too, so weird to have him just disappear…my whole family is distraught about it.

      1. I can only imagine. It’s heartbreaking.

  6. I hope one day you can talk to him again, it’s sad when family becomes estranged, especially over money

    1. Yeah, my parents were struggling themselves at the time. I am not sure what he was expecting.
