My favorite types of foods have changed a bit of late as I have moved away from a meat-based diet. Here are my current top five favorite foods. This post started as a list of my top five favorite foods, but I thought I would add to it. The 50 recipes are below this brief introduction. Enjoy!

#1 – Stir Fry – Stir fry or foods cooked in a wok I suppose, really makes me feel good about what I am eating and making for my family. Replacing the meat with tofu amplifies this effect, especially with some sweet and spicy sauce, basmati rice, and an ice-cold Sapporo or tea. stir fry Can have almost anything in it, which makes it a great way to clear out the fridge.

#2 – Pizza – Pizza is so versatile. My favorite is pineapple, red onions and spinach. I enjoy a good margarita pizza as well, with some bruschetta and maybe a medium-bodied Chianti.

#3 – Smoothies – Fruit smoothies are definitely my jam these days. I switched from coffee to smoothies in the morning recently and I have made some considerable gains on muscle by loading it with whey protein and fresh/frozen fruits, pomegranate juice, and a little bit of coconut milk.

#4 – Deserts – Thankfully my doctor has not told me I need to cut these out of my diet…yet. Of late, I have been getting into bakery pastries and such. Tiramisu, fruit tarts and crème brûlée top the list.

#5 – Homemade Soup – It is hard to beat some well-crafted homemade soup or chili. Soup makes for a great appetizer or main course and of course, cab have anything in it. Brócoli cheese, clam chowder, chicken noodles, and French onion are probably my top 4.

  1. Very interesting that you used Chat GPT to generate your list of food. I am still looking askance at AI as a writing adjunct, although I am using it in a college class I am taking (as little as possible). Anyway, great blog, beautiful photos!

    1. Thanks! I feel like it is (cheating) a bit, but there is no way I have time to consistently produce long-form content and chatgpt is so good at research tasks. Its like having a reaearch assistant!

  2. That chocolate peanut butter protein smoothie sounds great!

    1. For real! Peanut butter is a great source of protein!

  3. Since long I was born and grew up, my favorite food used to be meat. having followed recent risen diseases like; Brunelleschi, I stopped taking much of it and shifted to fish to serve as protein provider. Of late, having been diagnosed by a doctor recently, I was found to have been attacked by ulcers.
This led my change of diet again. Having done my own research, I discovered that if you use carrot when cooking Githeri – traditional Kikuyu tribe’s meal, it reduces acidity at a certain reasonable level. So, I have gone back to that mixture of maize and beans food known as Githeri.

  4. Well, put as usual, sir.
I am going to try the smoothie too🫡

    1. Nice, let me know what you think!

  5. Very interesting 🤔🫂

  6. Can’t wait to try your Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie!
