Who is your favorite historical figure?

Ny number one historical figure would have to be George Washington. He helped found a country, pulled off one of the biggest military upsets of all times, and by almost all accounts, was an incredibly inspiring person to be around.

He did own slaves, but supported abomishing slavery, which for his time was a very progressive view for a white aristocrat. I am sure he told plenty of lies and had many of the character flaws that are common to all men, but he accomplished amazing things despite them all.

Without George Washington, I don’t think there would of been a United States of America, feel free to disagree!

Great posts as always. This is a tough question for me to answer because I am not familiar with historical figures. That being said, if I had to pick one person in history that has inspired me it would be Steve Jobs. Not really a historical figure to be fair, but still an inspiring person that changed the world. Through drive, philosophy and passion, Jobs founded the most iconic smartphone company in the world. For this reason, I’ve always regarded the inventor as an inspiration.

Jobs’ life is beautifully depicted in the book “Steve Jobs”. I read this book a couple of years ago and really loved it. Worth reading even if you have no interest in Apple. Here’s why I recommend it:
